Hi Patrick. First of all, tell us something about yourself. What is your background and how did you end up in the Arkheim Team?
First and foremost, I am a game enthusiast myself, so it is always a lot of fun for me to work on games in general. I have worked in localization QA at a Triple A company before and have been involved as a map designer on a large modding project. I have seen the potential Arkheim has, which is to bring new energy into the browser and mobile market, that strategy fans can enjoy. So, you can imagine taking part in this team is super exciting for me.
How would you describe your role in the Arkheim Team?
As a QA member, we are the last instance of new features or fixes before they are released. It is easy to test for intended features – the tricky part is finding unintended ways to use this feature and report them. Bugs can appear in all kinds of ways, which makes this position so interesting to me.
Is there a pattern or rule that dictates how bugs are prioritized?
Of course. The most important one is the player's experience. To be more precise, presentation, and gameplay. Anything that would impact the enjoyment the player gets out of the game. For that reason, it is also beneficial when players report issues in our discord channel.
What should a bug from a player report look like to make it easier and faster for you to find its cause and identify how to fix it?
Most importantly, what exactly is wrong, and what happened before this bug appeared? At the beginning of an investigation, we always need to reproduce the issue to identify what went wrong. Even trivial info that the player might think is not important can help us find the culprit. The cherry on top is a screenshot showing the issue.
What do you enjoy the most about working in the Arkheim Team?
There are two things I enjoy at Travian Games. First, we have a very open and friendly atmosphere. When something needs to be discussed, everybody listens to each other and considers new ideas. Secondly, everybody is engaged and excited about the Arkheim project and does their best to make it as good of a game as possible. Working in such a team reflects a lot of motivation and makes me want to do my best.
Are you an active Arkheim player yourself or do you also play other games in your free time?
Yes, to both. This time is my first full round of Arkheim from start to Endgame. I also started playing on our fresh S5 server. As for other games, I find a lot of enjoyment in Sea of Thieves and Conquerors Blade lately.

I have already had many positive interactions with players on our discord channels, finding bugs, and making suggestions on improving the game.
